En 1932 Maria Reiche acept\u00f3 el puesto de ser tutora privada de los hijos del c\u00f3nsul de Alemania en Cuzco, Per\u00fa. All\u00ed se mantuvo por 4 a\u00f1os trabajando, pasado este tiempo viaj\u00f3 Lima, para trabajar como profesora de ingl\u00e9s y alem\u00e1n, adem\u00e1s de traductora de textos.
